Named for the the 1720's era King of Prussia Inn, this unincorporated community has served as an important crossroads in the Philadelphia area for over two centuries. During the colonial period, King of Prussia was one day's horseback ride from Philadelphia and served as a stopover for those coming from and going to Ohio. Today, there are four major that meet in or near the downtown area: Schuylkill Expressway (I-76), The Pennsylvania Turnpike, US 422, and US 202.
