Radnor region was settled in 1663 by Quakers from Radnorshire,
Wales. Commercial life in Radnor began to thrive when the Welsh
immigrants opened gristmills, sawmills, farms and tanneries.
After the Pennsylvania Railroad came through Radnor in 1832,
Radnor began to acquire more residential neighborhoods as well
as hotels and shops.
Radnor Township has been the "Best Place to Live in the Suburbs" by Philadelphia Magazine. And why not? With it's combination of rich heritage, outstanding school system, and recreation facilities Radnor is easily a Main Line favorite.
